Game hanging racks are provided at the Buffalo KOA Campground for your hunting trophy.
The Buffalo KOA Campground provides cabin accommodations, RV sites and campgrounds for hunters. The deluxe RV sites feature a spa, so you can relax after a days hunt. |

Hunters will welcome the range of big game in Wyoming. The surrounding area provides hunting for elk,
moose, deer, antelope, and mountain lion as well as many other species. And of course there are many great
streams and lakes for trout fishing.

For hunters that have not been here before, Buffalo has several licensed hunting outfitters that can advise you and also organize escorted hunting trips for you.
The local sports stores will also be able to assist
with ammunition, hunting gear, maps and licenses.
The Sports Lure can normally help with licenses if you missed out on the license draw. |

FISHING
Most streams and lakes
provide good trout fishing. Fish species include
brook, brown, and cutthroat trout, and grayling.
Fishing opportunities abound in the Middle Fork of
the Powder River near Kaycee, area reservoirs, and
the mountain streams and lakes within the Bighorn
National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness Area near
Buffalo. |

popular fishing sites near Buffalo are Lake DeSmet
and Healy Reservoir. |

Lake DeSmet |
There are over 200
lakes in the Big Horn Mountains and Bighorn National
Forest. Most provide exceptional trout fishing and a
magnificent view. Some lakes are easily accessible
by hiking - others are best accessible by horseback. |

pack trips and drop camps are available. Contact the

on guide services available in the area.
